Role-playing is something that many people approach with a certain amount of hesitation, often out of concern for feeling silly or awkward while trying to get into a role. This is okay; any new kind of sexual exploration is a learned skill, and all learned skills feel awkward at first. If you've never experimented with role play in bed before, it might feel a bit awkward to you at first, but that's okay; it becomes natural very quickly. And silliness in sex is not a bad thing; after all, it's supposed to be fun!
